Radio Progreso y el Equipo de Reflexión Investigación y Comunicación (ERIC) en coordinación con organizaciones populares de Honduras pretende sensibilizar, concienciar y promover la movilización de la población en vigilancia para la defensa de los bienes naturales y del territorio, a través de una campaña de comunicación llamada “Madre tierra, nuestra casa común. ¡Defendámosla!
La campaña se extenderá desde el Valle de Sula, hasta el atlántico hondureño y el Valle del Aguán así como el occidente de Honduras. La campaña comenzó en el agosto y en dos años abordará temas como: la minería, acceso al agua, empresas hidroeléctricas, defensa de los territorios (caso de Zonas especiales de desarrollo, desarrollo turístico, parques industriales, etc). También se abordará todo lo referente a monocultivos, depredación de los bosques y tráfico de madera, la militarización con la que se pretende controlar los territorios y sus bienes y sobre el espectro radioeléctrico, la denuncia sobre el control de los medios de comunicación en pocas manos.
Un enfoque principal de esta campaña es la participación ciudadana desde la cual se fortalecerá a la ciudadanía para que ejerza una mejor auditoría social/ambiental en torno a sus bienes naturales y de su territorio. La lucha frontal contra la corrupción e impunidad, que ahora ha sido acuerapada por una gran cantidad de sectores de la sociedad hondureña también es eje de esta campaña ya que el desarrollo de las comunidades se ve truncado por estos males.
Todas estas temáticas estarán cruzadas por unas transversales que le darán unidad a toda la campaña:
• Cultura de paz/ violencia
• Corrupción e impunidad
• La consulta previa como derecho de las comunidades
• Género
• Juventud
• Espiritualidad/ cosmovisión
• Experiencias positivas.
